Trump’s own judge deals blow to his mail voting crackdown A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Postal Service's new regulations aimed at limiting absentee and mail ballots ahead of the midterm elections. U. S.

District Judge Carl J. Nichols granted a temporary freeze on these rules, which were designed to require state officials to upload personal details about intended ballot recipients into a non operational web portal.

The administration had published these regulations in August, despite warnings from local election officials that implementing them so close to an election would be impractical, if not impossible.
